6 Gaming Gadgets That Will Elevate Your Setup

We are lucky to be living in the golden age of gaming. The newest generation of consoles are miles ahead of their predecessors. VR technology is rapidly advancing and becoming cheaper and more immersive. And each year we are treated to a plethora of new and amazing titles that push the boundaries of what games can be.

And to properly enjoy these titles you need a good gaming setup. Of course we will assume you have all the essential equipment. Today we are going to be looking at 7 gadgets that you can add to your setup to take it to the next level.

Gaming Mouse

There is no better feeling than breaking in a new mouse. But if you’re a serious gamer then you should definitely upgrade to a gaming mouse. These bits of kit often come with multiple shortcut buttons that can be customized to suit whatever game you are playing. If you’re a big FPS player then you can get ones specifically suited towards shooting as well. I have found it extremely useful to bind my hacks for fortnite to the extra buttons for extreme ease of access.

We recommend going for a rechargeable mouse rather than one that is battery powered. If the batteries inside break and leak it could cause massive damage to the mouse. Plus the mouse is far less likely to go offline as often if it is kept charged regularly as opposed to battery powered.

Controller Charging Port

Don’t worry we haven’t forgotten about the console gamers. And if you’re someone who is bored of dealing with charging cables cluttering up your desk then this is the gadget for you. Controller charging ports are convenient docks that charge your controllers while also putting them neatly on display.

If you don’t want to go for one of the boring plain designs there are plenty of video game inspired ports on websites like etsy. My personal favorite is the Nuka Cola themed port.

Gaming Vests

If you have a lot of money to burn and really want to create an immersive gaming experience then a gaming vest should be your next investment. These seriously cool bits of kit work using vibrations to simulate the experiences of the game world. Gunshots, explosions, punches. The vest will relay all this back to you in real time. Don’t worry though, it isn’t painful in the slightest. These vests pair really well with a VR headset if you can afford both.

Wireless Charging Mousepad

Picture this, you’re in the middle of a heated game about to win and then your mouse runs out of battery. The entire match was lost just because you didn’t change the batteries. But you never need to face this problem again with a wireless charging mousepad. The name is pretty self explanatory.

You will definitely want to go for one of the bigger name brands for this product. A cheaper version will most likely be made of cheaper material which will impact the movement of your mouse. And, a big upside, most other devices can also be charged on the pad as well.

Steam Deck

The ultimate in handheld gaming. The Steam Deck was one of the most discussed bits of kit when it was first announced. A fully portable gaming PC that can run a huge percentage of the Steam library. While it isn’t the cheapest option out there it is a must have for any serious PC gamer. The device has a lot of customisable buttons allowing for a wide range of freedom when customizing your in-game button mapping.

We do recommend splurging the extra money to get a higher storage version of the Deck. Each model can utilize SD card storage. But it’s always good to have more games saved directly to the harddrive. There have been reports of some bugs with the Deck causing failures in SD cards.

Bluetooth Soundbar

One of the best aspects of games is the soundtrack. It is integral to the immersion and, sometimes, even becomes a central aspect of the game itself. Which is why you need a sound system that can do your games OST justice. A soundbar is the best choice for times you don’t want to wear your headset.

Bose are one of the safest bets when it comes to quality soundbars. And soundbars are also great for anything you’re planning to watch. So you’ll be elevating your movie nights along with your gaming sessions.
